THE BASEMENT

An absolute international institution, NFE looked after The Basement for its final 5 years before closing to do with complications with the landlord. Mainly known for its history in Jazz, NFE broadening the offering to include a number of contemporary genres and culturally diverse performances. Highlight bookings include Thundercat, Roy Ayers, Steve Gadd Band, Martha Wainwright, Incognito, James Bay, DMA’s, The Rubens, Freddie Gibbs, John Butler Trio, Chet Faker, Larry Graham, The Teskey Brothers, Mulatu Asatake, Megan Washington and too many more to list!

LEADBELLY

A fantastic Sydney Inner West room with an amazing pedigree for music in its past life as The Vanguard, NFE have taken on the reins in 2018, combining booking disciplines of classic dinner and show jazz venues with the vibrancy of its Newtown location. Initial booking victories are as broad as Dami Im, Mia Dyson, Ruby Boots, Hein Cooper, B-Wise, Rainbow Chan True Vibenation, Godtet, Adrian Eagle and comedian Luke Heggie. 

MAX WATTS

Formally know as the Hi-Fi and The Forum before that, Max Watt’s is a slick 1500 capacity multi-purpose space with adjoining outdoor car park for small festivals and event take overs. NFE took over bookings in 2017 and have focus on driving quality shows into the space with fantastic success. Recent booking successes include Red Bull Weekender ft. , George Clinton, Illenium, What So Not, Cigarettes After Sex, The Black Angels, Mr Carmack, 360, Thundamentals, Sister Nancy, Eric Bennet, LA Guns ft. Steve Adler, Autchere & Katchafire with commercial activations for brands like Red Bull, Optus, Coors & Samsung.

THE MAC (MACQUARIE HOTEL)

Established as a live music space in 2004, The Mac become a hot bed of culture for almost a decade to follow. Always free and inclusive with a heavily curated music offering specialising in the best in Soul, Jazz, Funk and World Music, The Mac enjoyed surprise shows from The Headhunters, Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen and Pedrito Martinez to name a few. It also saw the who’s who of Sydney’s burgeoning scene at the time call the place home including Jackie Orszaczky, Steve Clisby, Doug Williams and many many more. At its peak The Mac had live gigs 7 nights a week over two levels with the late shifts finishing at 3am on the weekends. 

JON CLEARY

Grammy Award winning New Orleans native Jon Cleary has always enjoyed a massive live presence in Australia, NFE has acted as his promoter and agent exclusively since 2007. During that time Jon has sold out numerous club shows and blown away festival stages such as Bluesfest, WOMAD, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Caloundra Festival and many many more.

LANSDOWNE HOTEL

A legendary live music space in Sydney, NFE were thrilled to bring the space back on to the map in 2014 after it had descended into a middle of the road Uni Bar. Utilising an amazing free entry program NFE triple takings in the hotel and brought in some of the countries finest rock / alternative / punk acts including Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, Hockey Dad, The Hard Ons, Alex Cameron, Palms, Bad//Dreems, Dappled Cities, The Peep Tempel, Gooch Palms, Donny Benet, Spookyland and many more.

NEWTOWN FESTIVAL

Simply put, a legendary event. NFE took over programming in 2013 for the festival’s 35^th anniversary brining in some of the biggest line up since 2017 saw the festival reach 100k in attendance. Showcasing the best in local Newtown talent and from across the country Newtown Festival is the principle fundraising exercise for Newtown Neighbourhood Community Centre. 

HUDSON BALLROOM

Taking on a club / live music space in the same space as legendary Sydney nightclub Goodgod Small Club was always going to be difficult. NFE took on the task finding the next generation in Sydney’s clubbing community, international special guest party makers and Australia’s finest live acts including Diplo, Dillion Francis, Masego, YEHME2, Vera Blue, Seth Sentry, Middle Kids Jack River, Alex Lahey, Aeroplane, Ruby Fields, Just A Gent, Manu Crooks and many more.

SYDNEY BREWERY – SURRY HILLS

A brand new venue opening 2018 from the same owners of The Mac, we’re planning  the same inclusive, music loving atmosphere for this free room, offering the very best in bar room music Sydney has to offer paired beautifully with award wining beer!

LEGENDS OF NEW ORLEANS TOUR

Featuring Allen Toussaint, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band & Jon Cleary, this tour was truly the stuff of legends. 23 Touring musicians live and direct from The Big Easy in 3 of the cities biggest acts. The tour enjoyed sold out nights at The Sydney Opera House and Palace Theatre in Melbourne as well as tacking in other shows nationally. The first time Allen Toussaint made it to Australia included a barnstorming oversold show at The Basement in Sydney as well.

MARBLE BAR (THE HILTON SYDNEY)

One of the most beautiful bars in Sydney, Marble Bar’s program was designed to bring absolute class will making sure the party never ever stopped. We hand picked and developed a bespoke musical act called The Dominoes for a Friday night residency including a rotating roster of the cities best musicians playing old school soul and RnB bangers. The rest of the program filled with the best of the best DJ’s a live entertainment to suit the amazing space.

OXFORD CIRCUS

Although its existence was short lived in 2016 its impact was massive, a beautifully designed 100 cap room that went from opening to 6 sold out shows a week with some great names coming through including The Preatures, AB original, Spit Syndicate, Polygraphia, Fortunes, Mossy & Okenyo.

JAM GALLERY

Back in 2013 NFE was hired to establish a brand new venue in Sydney’s East, Jam Gallery lived on for years to come, among many highlights the opening party featured Spiderbait, Tuka and Sketch The Rhyme.

RAVÁL

Drawing on the success of The Mac below, Ravál opened in the first floor of The Macquarie Hotel and offered a ticketed alternative. A bespoke live music space of only 90 capacity attracted some of the biggest stars on the planet with Passenger, Matt Corby, Angus & Julia Stone, Eskimo Joe, Jon Cleary, Lanie Lane and Music Man Miles from Breakestra gracing the stage not to mention many burlesque and cabaret seasons. 

THE ROSE OF AUSTRALIA

A classic, well respected, front bar gig that catered to a local audience of discerning tastes, The Rose is the type of gig that is hard to find in Sydney today and even at the time was considered a best kept secret. The countries best in Folk, Soul and Blues graced the stage regularly.

KITTYHAWK

An amazing Sydney CBD small bar, NFE program bespoke groups of Sydney’s finest musicians to help set the scene for some amazing cocktails and food.

LOBO PLANTATION

An amazing Sydney CBD Cuban cocktail haunt, NFE has just started programing monthly Afro-Caribbean live nights to compliment the amazing Thursday night atmosphere.

BOTTOMS UP FESTIVAL

In 2017 NFE managed the bookings for this Muswellbrook Music and Beer festival. The line up included an electric bill of some of the countries finest in Thundamentals, Winston Surfshirt, Polish Club, Nicole Millar and Australia – The Band. Record festival attendance were recorded in 2017 with ticket sales doubling from the year before.
